Pisces Season: Dreaming of Rabbits

The Sun entered Pisces this morning as of 2:07am. I always feel like I’ve fallen into dreamland this time of year. It’s the last sign of the zodiac, and the cycle begins again. Although it’s almost Spring, I never feel as if I’m waking up just yet. Rather, I feel as I am in the deepest part of sleep where dreams come alive.

Pisces is a mutable water sign. They’re dreamy, mystical, and so incredibly creative. Water signs are lush and wet, considered to be the most fertile signs of the zodiac. This season marks the perfect conditions for CREATING. I always start my seedlings for my garden as soon as Pisces season hits. Days are getting longer and weather’s getting milder. Our minds are bursting with ideas and visions for the year ahead. We just celebrated Valentine’s Day, and many of us are still feeling romantic and in love with life.

Piscean energy is wise, yet childlike. They are whimsical, and as such we are amongst the season of talking bunnies living in carrot houses, decorated eggs, and bright colors. Rabbits are a symbol of luck and abundance, as is Pisces’ ruling planet: Jupiter. Pisces season marks the coming of Easter—a holiday that celebrates the very essence of this sign: unconditional love, resurrection, martyrdom, and sacrifice.

It’s not unheard of to feel emotionally drained throughout this season. Most people tend to ignore the world around them as they are mainly focused on themselves. But being focused on yourself does not always mean you are going within. Pisces is inherently the most intuitive sign of the zodiac. They are mutable water! They can shape-shift and form and adhere to anything that gets in their way. Do yourself a favor and listen to whatever strong feelings come up for you this month. Don’t try to push them away as you might have during Aquarius season. Absorb them. Try to shed the ego-led behavior; this is instinctual, not intuition. Pisces season is for slowing down and leaning into restorative, comfortable practices before we jump into the fiery energy of Aries.

When the Sun enters a new sign, I always think of that season in relation to its animal form. Fish correspond with water, sure. But when you look closely at this depiction of Pisces, you are looking down on the fish, similar to a bird’s eye view. You are looking at a mirror, as water tends to reflect the outside world. Remember that as you make your way through this next month. We are but reflections of the world around us, and as a man sows, so shall he reap.
